Scouting can help you learn essential life skills while having fun! Troop 271 is located in
Lafayette, Colorado and is chartered by
JAX Mercantile. We love adventure!
Our troop has been very active, going to places like Florida Sea base, Mt. Rushmore, Japan for the World Jamboree, Malita Island in Montana and fabulous
Ben Delatour scout camp.
We have done snow camping, Kayaking, rafting, hiking, and a wide variety of exciting activities. We also help people in the community by working with the City of Lafayette for Lafayette's Open Space day and Christmas tree recylcing.
Besides having a good time, scouting prepares you with life skills that you won’t get in school. Canoeing, starting a campfire, pitching a tent, fixing a car, blasting clays with a shotgun, camping in the snow...there’s over 120 life skills that you can learn and earn a merit badge for.
